This Hygrophila’s leaves are maroon in colour – tending to purple, that are long and narrow growing up to 15cm horizontally in length.
Hygrophila Lancea or Araguaia as it was more commonly known years ago was named after the famous river in Brazil. Later on it was identified as originating from Asia and now known as Hygrophila Lancea. The height of this plant will grow anywhere between 10 – 20cm. Careful pruning with help to bush out this plant. Generally grows slower compared with other Hygrophila’s. CO2 not essential but helps with growth rate. Medium to very high lighting will bring about more compact growth and maintain the nice rich colour of this plant.
Tissue cultures are in a 5cm container - simply rinse gel and plant.
