Aquamate Aquarium Conditioning Salt is an inexpensive way to treat your aquarium and to keep fish happy and healthy. Aquarium salt helps to provide replacement sodium and chloride ions that stressed or sick fish need, and it may inhibit the fishes’ uptake of toxic chemicals in tap water, like nitrate, leading to an overall healthier fish tank. Aquarium salt has no additives that appear in ordinary table salt, such as iodine and calcium silicate. These additives can cause an adverse reaction in your fish, and as such, is not recommended.
